I really loved the Stanley set’s style and the color of the bureau but not the color of the chest of drawers that did not match. We bought Stanleys YA Cottage Treasures collection for my daughter 11 years ago, then added the desk & hutch about 5 years later. The pine wood is very soft and scratches/dents easily. I have been very disappointed in the drawer slide quality.

After some initial trials, MECCO was able to mark the drawers so effectively that both the mark and the process satisfied the needs of Stanley’s engineers and excited their marketers. Ok, now that I have read much negative is there any positive people out there. I don’t think Stanley is the best, but to be honest I haven’t seen any “great” made items either and I don’t think there that bad. Alot ot the children’s furniture seem poorly made. The rest of my daughters furniture is Morgeau – Lepine which is now out of business.

Beautiful Young America by Stanley, bought at Direct Interiors, white daybed with trundle which includes one mattress if wanted . So I guess if you are deciding whether or not to go with YA furniture, think carefully, but personally I would feel a lot more comfortable buying the new products having seen the difference in manufacturing. The customer rep at Young America, and apparently any furniture purchased BEFORE 2009 was produced in China, and therefore did not have the Greenguard seal. Well we ordered the Ma Marie desk, hutch, chair and night stand.
